How to choose your Masters in Accounting
Below, you will find the results of our own research into the various Masters
level programmes in Accounting or Accounting and Finance, offered in the
UK. The data was correct when compiled, and it is possible that details of
some courses have changed .... or that we have misinterpreted some universities'
information - if you spot any errors, we'd be grateful if you would let us know,
and we will correct the table.
Summary:
Programmes range in price from about £3,000 to nearly £20,000 and with a
range of attendance from no days (distance learning) to 2 years full time.
If you are considering a low-priced relatively quick Masters that builds on your
professional qualification, then it seems that (including ours) there are 5
programmes you need to consider. Oxford Brookes and London College offer
pure distance learning programmes - ie no attendance required, at slightly
higher prices than the other 3 (approximately £4,500 to £5,000). Leeds
Metropolitan, London Guildhall and the University of West England and ourselves
(MDC-Glamorgan) offer programmes at around the £3,000- £4000 mark, and with limited
attendance required at the universities. Most of these 4 universities are
useful if you live near their campus, as they operate regular evening or
Saturday tuition. But if you prefer the tuition to be concentrated into
just two weekends, then ours (Glamorgan-MDC) is the one to choose.
